Spring, here we are!!

Last thursday was Valborg. That’s a special day in Sweden where no one work the afternoon. This last day of April is celebrated the end of Winter: the tradition in all the country is to light big fires, and singing songs of Spring.
Uppsala, the oldest university city, is famous to gather a lot of people, and especially students. As I knew someone doing his erasmus year in this city, I decided with some friends it could be the opportunity to see that from our own eyes.
I met Romain in Russia. He was my mate at each hotel, and after this amazing trip, we agreed we should meet again, in Sweden. But the time ran, and we didn't contact each other. Until one day where I met him by chance at the skavsta Airport: He was taking the same plane as me to France! That’s was funny and we finally agreed again we should meet but not by chance in Sweden. Two months later, as I was in Stockholm with my three french friends, I met him a second time close to the Royal Palace. That was not chance, but the fate! So, three days before Valborg, I asked him if I could host me and some friends for one night.
We left Linkoping around 9 o’clock in the morning I and my french friends, Paul Alex and Damien.. At 264 km, we arrived around 12:30 at the parking place of Romain. After a fast lunch, we went in downtown to see how was the party. Actually it was not one party, but sevaral!! First surprise, there were a looot of students. And a lot already drunk.

Music everywhere with a sunny day, thousand of people in the streets, that was crazy! At one moment, I tried to find Apostolis, Ruben and Peter, my erasmus friends also from Linkoping, but the streets were so overcroaded that is was impossible. Then, we went on a hill where people were dancing, front of an official party. Just because they didn’t have tickets to enter, they were 10meters from the gate, dancing with the music of this party.
I finally found my erasmus friends around 5 pm. After a call to Romain, I met him in a public garden. But what a garden! It was more like a public landfill! All people had thrown away their rubbish, during all the day. Thinking that swedish people can sometimes behave like animals…

We went in different partys during the day: reggae music in afternoon and electro music in the night. All oustide, with the stars over us, the light from the spots: we leaved the reality!

Saturday, back from Uppsala, I joined my chickens Lukas, Peter, Cecilia, Ruben and Arthur for a volley ball beach game. Hard Student’s life! We met again the night for a big barbecue behind my building. With Ruben, we moved my sofa outside to sea the sunset. Smell of grilled meat, sound of guitars, view on Linkoping, we really enjoyed this end of day!

Sunday, I had a concert with Lithe Blas in a farm, at fifteen kilometres from Linkoping. We met early in the morning and the question I asked to myself was: how we will go this farm? Well it was obvious: One of the farmer came at the university with one tractor, and two big empty dumps. We put all the instruments in one, and installed uself in the other. During all the way, some played and jamed: Irealistic scene in the countryside of Sweden!
It was a “kind of important day”: It was the release of the cows in the fields. Whouou!! After this moment, full of emotion, we had our crazy concert. As usual: That rocked!

April in Sweden

Sun. Friendship. Happyness. That’s what could sum up my last week. First my dear Kevin came to visit me, and that was really enormous. Could I think that three years after high school we could see again at almost 2000 kilometres from Paris? After introducing the Chickens Family the friday evning,, Lukas, Cecilia, Angelique, Ruben, Apostolis, Peter, Milan, we went Kevin and I to Stockholm for two days the day after. As I expected, it was the cold that welcomed us and with a surprise: The snow appeared several times, in the middle of April. We walked around for hours before to visit The Royal Palace, in Gamla Stan. After one night spent in a Youth Hostel located in the downtown of Stockholm we went in the famous museem Vasa.

Back to Linkoping, we spent a big part of the Tuesday afternoon playing football with Paul and Damien, my “collegues” from my engineering school. A sunny day where a lot of people were outside to enjoy the sun.
Wednesday we went in Norkkoping for the afternoon: I had a concert with m orchestra Lithe Blas closed to the University . It was a bit weird we played for the opening of a buidling construction in a site with one crane over us .

We moved then to some meters to be filmed by the Swedish Television: We didn’t play a full concert but only some parts of songs: It was a kind of jingles for the local TV Show.

Touching the sky

It was one of this trip that you can’t forget. One of this thing that you have dreamed so long time, that when it realyzes, you could cry so that you waited this moment.
Everything started this of february. I left the morning from Linkopinf with my three french friend to a dream. Two hours by train go to Stockohlm. Then, one full night of train from the capital to the north of Sweden.

When you wake up the day after, you continue to dream. You don’t know if it’s real or if you are still sleeping. Everything around you is white, expect this light at the horizon: the sun shows you the way, and you think only one thing: you are realizing your dream.

You want to smell this dream, to touch it, to smell it and you finally do it. At Abisko, in a one hundred ‘village unhabitants, you get out of the train and breath deeply. This air is cold but your soul warms you. Take skis, and visit around. There is this ernormous lake behind this big house, and you start to go on it. Around you, no one expect your friends. You could see at 5 kilometres away, there will still not be any noise. Silence. Total silence. This value for which so many people in the world could die for it. Freedom. Freedom to accomplish your dreams. To live them as you wish.

At this moment, you have the feeling that you in harmony with the nature. The sun start to set, and it’s getting colder. You lie down one the ice and look at the sky. Quickly, the milky way appears, and shooting stars can’t stop to catch you attention. A this moment you think that nothing care for you. All your sense are united, but one the same time, you are loosing control of youself. Past and Future don’t exist. Reality and imagination are one. It’s so magic and beautiful that you could stay until the end. The sky is clear, and you are touching one star. You are a part of the world. And a whole

Back in Linkoping!

How to start in a good way the beginning of the year ? Well, since I am back in Linkoping, so many things happened that it’s hard to remember everything!
First, something I started to miss,…Lithe Blas! And what could be better than a concert to celebrate 2009?

It was the day before my first course of the year I learnt, during my weekly repetition, we would have a show…Monday! So instead of going to the University at 8:00 am, I took my sax with me to join the other yellow guys of my band, in downtown.

It was in a theatre, and we had to play for the new students (to welcome them in the best way!), before the speech of the Director. 15 minutes of happyness, and for the first time I had been choosen to make a joke. I had to blow on a balloon, but I had to fail each time, until someone used my arms as a pump to make me succeed. Who says I wasn’t a clown? Aha!

A good friend of mine from Norkoping, moved in Linkoping few days ago. So the last friday we had a kind of welcome party for him. At that time, I didn’t know in 24hours, I would have a good bye party for Johannes. I maybe never mention this guy in my blog, and I can’t say that we haved shared a lot of things together during the last 5 months in Linkoping. But there is something incredible between us. He is the first guy I met in my Erasmus’Life. We travelled together in July, on the boat between Danemark and Sweden. I came from Paris. He came from Dortmund. “Erasmus?” Like the scene at the end of the movie “L’auberge Espagnole. “Yep, Erasmus, Sweden, Linkoping”aha! The most surprising is that we were together again in the bus to go to the airport, when we both went back to our country.

I discovered again the pleasure to dance! Last Tuesday, after a good “before party” in Paul’s corridor, we went to HG, the club of Ryd at around midnight. Without surprise, we queued, but after 15 minutes, we got in. HG has nothing special, but after 3 or 4 glasses, everything appeared fantastic! A shit music, but with nice people around you, you can spend a good time!
Thursday, it was Elin’s Birthday, a cool swedish girl who lives in the same corridor that Paul.

It was exactly the kind of party that never happened in my last two years in Nancy. Imagine 4 guys in a living room with at least 12 swedish girls totally drunk! I let a video in my picassa ;)

Yesterday, Stefan a guy from switzerland who study in Stockholm came to see me and others friends in Linkoping.

I met him during my Russian Trip in November. He made a movie of our adventures, between Saint Persburg and Moscow. A good way to remember this amazing trip!

It’s done! I have booked everything! The tickets have been bought, two Youth Hostel have been booked. In february, a dream ‘s gonna be realized.
